Asus needs a boost from Valve to release Asus ROG Ally
Speaking with PC Gamer, Galip Fu revealed that the announcement of Steam Deck in 2021 has been the impetus for Asus to release its handheld prototype.
The introduction of Steam Deck in 2021 was a huge boost for us. It inspires us to accelerate our collaboration with AMD to develop something even more advanced – something powerful and efficient enough for modern PC handheld gaming.

When asked if Asus ROG Ally would still be around if not for Steam Deck, Fu replied:
Yes, it’s here to stay, but probably not as soon as 2023. Valve has been a central figure in the PC gaming industry for decades and has a special place in the hearts of gamers, including us.
While we have been preparing designs for a Windows-based PC gaming handheld for some time, we were waiting for something that could offer the best gaming experience – something that could meet the performance demands of gamers.

Asus ROG Ally is rumored to open pre-orders on May 11, 2023. The price is rumored to be under 14 million rupiah.
